A big thanks to everyone!

On behalf of all the staff of No Brand Con this year, we wanted to thank all the volunteers, guests, vendors, artists, panelists, and most importantly, all the attendees who helped make this the best No Brand Con yet! We had 1,271 people attend this year’s convention, which made this the biggest No Brand Con to date. We definitely want to hear your feedback of what you thought of this year’s event, so feel free to post on our Feedback/Suggestions forum on what you liked or thought could use some improvements or what you’d like to see at future cons!

For all of those who were not able to attend closing ceremonies, we just wanted to give you a heads up since we announced our dates for 2012 at the end of this past convention. No Brand Con XI will be taking place at The Plaza again next year during the weekend of May 4-6, 2012. Hopefully being a bit later in the Spring next year will allows us to avoid the snow better! XD

We’ve got a lot of good ideas percolating already to make next year’s convention all that much better and we’ll be hitting the road attending upcoming conventions including Wausaubicon, Geek.kon, and Daishocon with a lot of cool promotions for everyone! In the meantime, feel free to join up on our forums to chat about the convention and other topics with your fellow con goers. You can also always follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

No Brand Con X is tomorrow!

We’re gearing up for setup this afternoon in anticipation of the start of the con on Friday! We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of old and new faces this weekend!

Everything you need to prepare for you convention weekend is right under the Events & Schedules page which has all our major events, master schedule, and registration times! Registration will open up at 11AM on Friday and the convention will start at Noon, so have a safe drive to Eau Claire and we all hope you have a great time at the con this weekend!

If you need to help kill some time in anticipation of the con, check out our plot videos for this year which are all conveniently linked right here, join up on our forums to chat about the convention if you haven’t yet, or follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

Men of the Week!

So, this year, a funny girl named Q teamed up with John of Fast Food Anime once again to bring you the NoBrandCon 2011 Man Auction! …And the Men of Staff are more than willing to sell themselves…er, a date with themselves, to the highest bidder.

This year’s featured Men, stats, and info about them can be found here; http://www.nobrandcon.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15420

As you can see, a few Men from last year return, and a few more have joined the fray! Who will you bid on in our knock down drag out Friday night Charity event?

No Brand Con X Master Schedule

Our No Brand Con Master Schedule is now ready to go to! Feel free to check it out or download it to help better plan your convention weekend!

Click here to view and download it! It’s on google docs via a spread sheet for easy access.

There potentially could be a slight change made to the start time of a panel or showing between now and the convention if needed, but we have no plans to change it right now. All the major events and everything else will happen at the scheduled times on this schedule. If we do make any changes, we will post an update about it.

And as always, if you can’t always check the main site, feel free to follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

Overflow Hotel Information & Convention Layout

A few rooms opened up over the weekend at the convention hotel as well as a handful of rooms still being available for single night stays on Friday or Saturday night if you don’t need to stay the entire weekend. You can call the hotel directly (715-834-3181) in order to book one of these rooms or you can also check availability at The Plaza by clicking here. The hotel will still honor the $92 convention rate right up until the start of the convention.

If you can’t find anything open at The Plaza, we did set up some overflow hotel rooms at The Days Inn-Campus which is located near the con hotel:

Days Inn-Campus
2305 Craig Road
Eau Claire, WI 54701
(715) 834-3193
http://www.stayeauclaire.com

They do have a special rate setup for anyone who mentions they are staying there for NoBrandCon.

Just a reminder today is also the last day you can submit volunteer forms, NoBrand Comic submissions, and AMV Contest entries in order to be considered for this year’s con! Information for these is linked in the previous update if you need to know what to do in order to get it in.

Also, here is the convention layout we’re using at the Plaza this year. There is a open area north of the hotel for people to do outside omake activities and there will be an ambassador area for other conventions adjacent to Artist Alley Area B and a photo shoot in the Pool Deck Lounge.

And as always, if you can’t always check the main site, feel free to follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

Hotel Update #7 & a Couple of Deadline Extensions

We checked in with The Plaza this morning and the convention hotel is almost sold out for consecutive night stays. A couple of rooms freed up due to some outside cancelations. There are also a handful of rooms that are available for single nights on either Friday or Saturday night if you weren’t going to need to stay for the entire weekend as well. You will need to call the hotel directly (715-834-3181) in order to book any of these rooms though. The good news is the con hotel will still honor the old convention rate of $92 or $102 a night right up until the start of the con in two weeks.

Also, we will be extending a couple of our deadlines for our NoBrand Comic and AMV Contest for any who still need a bit more time until Sunday, April 3: (click on the link below for more info)

AMV Contest – Sunday, April 3
NoBrand Comic – Sunday, April 3
Volunteer Forms – Sunday, April 3

Volunteer forms, AMV Contest entries, and NoBrand Comic submissions must be submitted by Sunday, April 3 in order to participate in any of these events or volunteer at the con.

And as always, if you can’t always check the main site, feel free to follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

The Watercooler & Team-up with Daishocon & Pokemon

A couple of announcements for today. First, we’ll be appearing on the radio tomorrow on The Watercooler hosted by Jimmy Kaska on Sports Radio 1400 AM at 5:15PM on Friday, 4/1! Jimmy is a big fan of NoBrandCon and we’re very fortunate he’s giving us some time on his local Sports Talk Show to talk about NoBrandCon, so if you live in the Eau Claire area, be sure to listen tomorrow afternoon on 1400 AM or listen to their live radio stream on their website if you live out of the area.

Secondly, we’re happy to announce we’ll be teaming up with Daishocon to help run our Pokemon HG/SS & Pokemon B/W tournaments on Saturday afternoon of the convention in our Portable Gaming Lounge! So be sure to bring your DS’s and your best Pokemon teams in both games to see who is a true Pokemon Master! Maybe only then, after several battles in our Pokemon tournaments will you be battle tested enough to take on Daishocon’s Elite 4 during their room party on Saturday night of the convention!

Deadlines reminder!

We’re just here to let you know, that the following deadlines for certain events and submissions are just a few days away at most, so if you want to participate in any of the following, you need to get your stuff submitted soon!

Hotel Convention Rate – Thursday, March 31
AMV Contest – Friday, April 1
NoBrand Comic – Friday, April 1
Volunteer Forms – Sunday, April 3

Click on the link for each for more info.

You’ll need to make your reservation at the con hotel by Thursday, March 31 to insure you’ll receive the convention rate, and at last check, there was only one room left in our block available for both Friday and Saturday nights, and a small handful of rooms available for just Friday or Saturday for single night stays although you will need to call the hotel directly (715-834-3181) to reserve one of those single night rooms as they are outside of the convention block.

And as always, if you can’t always check the main site, feel free to follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

Cosplay Rules and Important Hotel Update #6

Again, we wanted to thank everyone who preregistered for this year. This is definitely one of the strongest preregistration drives we’ve had yet!

Here are the rules and criteria for cosplay at the con this year, just in case you need to make any modifications to your costume or props before the convention. If you’re planning on participating in the cosplay contest, you can help out our judges during pre-judging before the con a bit by posting an advance photo of your costume in this thread here on our forums for reference purposes.

There are still two standard rooms left available for two consecutive nights in our hotel block for those looking to stay the entire weekend as well as one left just for Saturday evening. All these rooms should have either two beds or a single bed with a pull out couch for multiple people to stay. These rooms are $92 per night. There are also still a few single king bed with beside whirlpool rooms left available outside the hotel block available for $102 per night as well as a couple of standard rooms left, but you’ll have to call the hotel directly (715-834-3181) and tell them you’re coming for NoBrandCon in order to get them to knock the rooms down to the convention rate. If you’re looking to stay at the con hotel, we definitely recommend making a reservation in the next few days because the cutoff for the convention rates is this Thursday, March 31. If you try to book a room after March 31, the rates will go up to the Plaza’s standard rates after that day.

And as always, if you can’t check the main site consistently for convention updates, feel free to follow us on Facebook & Twitter for convention updates!

From the desk of Wilson Oakes Jr., CEO of BrandCorp™

To Our Valued Customers,

I would like to take a moment of your time to thank all of you who have shown your absolute loyalty to both BrandCorp™ and No Brand Con by preregistering for this year’s convention. To have such loyal customers is the goal of any business, and I feel that we have proven to everyone that we have the most loyal of customers.

However, because we must adhere to a strict schedule, the preregistration option for No Brand Con 10 has closed. For those of you who didn’t get to preregister in time, we do have at-the-door registration available. If you would like to attend just Friday, then it will only cost you $15. If Saturday is the only day you can attend, then it will be $20. If Sunday is your day, then as with Friday, it will only cost $15. Finally, if you wish to attend the entire weekend, it will only be $35 at the door.

We here at Brandcorp™ look forward to seeing our customers at this year’s No Brand Con.

Sincerely,

Wilson Oakes, Jr.
