Children 12 and Under
Children ages 12 and under must be registered at the door and must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If a child is found without supervision, the supervising adult will be ejected from the convention.
No Brand Con is an event geared towards teens and adults. Events are often not appropriate or very interesting for small children. Children under the age of six will be admitted for free, but this is offered only as a courtesy to attendees who may have to bring along small children.
Requests for refunds may be made up until one month before the convention. Barring cancellation of the event, no exceptions will be made. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you are unable to attend, registrations can be transferred to another attendee or to a future year. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us.
No Brand Con has a zero-tolerance harassment policy. No Brand Con is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. The definition of harassment includes (but is not exclusively) acts of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
During the convention, incidents of harassment can be reported to any staff member. One can always be found on duty in our convention operations Staff Room (as noted on the map in the program guide). They will alert either the Convention Director or Floor Manager on duty to assist you. For those who cannot physically locate a staff member (or need to file a report of harassment after the convention), a report can be made my emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling us at 715-598-9215.
Pets and Animals
According to hotel policy, the only animals allowed in the hotel are Certified Therapy and Service Animals. If you have a service animal they MUST have the appropriate tags/documentation.
No Brand Con has a “no live steel” policy. Swords, Knives, and other bladed objects are not to be carried into con space. Any bladed weapons purchased at the convention must be immediately removed from the convention space once they leave the vendor booth and should be secured in either a hotel room or vehicle. Firearms and associated ammunition are strictly prohibited from the convention.
Additionally, any prop guns must have a visibly displayed orange tip, and must be peacebound. Airsoft weapons are prohibited from convention space, and any Nerf weaponry must have their triggers peacebound outside of designated events. Aluminum and Wooden Baseball bats, blunt metal clubs, or similar weapons are also prohibited.
Please be mindful of size with prop weapons. If you feel like your prop is too large to safely walk in hallways, don’t carry it. If we find you are not responsibly handling your prop, we will ask you to place it in your room or car.
Alcohol and Other Substances
Use of illegal substances in the convention space will result in immediate ejection. Alcohol is not permitted in convention space, and should remain in the bar or your hotel room. It’s a whole ten feet guys, we’re not being unreasonable.
Per Wisconsin state law, tobacco use is banned from the convention space. Additionally, please keep any e-cigs or similar vaporizers outside of convention space, the hallways and rooms used by convention.
Your clothes/cosplay/etc must be family and hotel friendly. This means covering all genitalia so they are not visible (even through clothes), and ensuring no ‘slips’ occur. Dance belts or compression shorts are recommended for those with wearing skin tight body suits and pants. If a staff member asks you to change, please do so.
Hate Symbols and Associated Iconography:
As we strive to provide a welcoming, safe environment for all attendees, symbols associated with historical atrocities and current hate groups are strictly forbidden from the convention. This includes (but is not limited to) swastikas, Nazi uniforms, cosplays closely based on Nazi uniforms, and paraphernalia associated with these organizations. While in an ideal world it would be easy to separate fictional characters who wear these items from real world events, in our current political climate we do not believe it is possible. Anyone wearing or displaying an item of clothing, prop, or other item considered a hate symbol will be asked to remove it from the convention and refusal to do so will result in ejection from the convention without refund.
By Registering For No Brand Con you are agreeing to abide by the rules and policies set forth by No Brand Con, Inc while in the convention space. We reserve the right to, at our discretion, refuse service to and/or eject without refund any person not following convention policies or being disruptive to the convention.
No Brand Con Inc. also reserves the right to photograph and/or video tape you for it’s own use while you are in the convention space, and reserves the right to use that image in official convention materials. Attendance of No Brand Con constitutes as your acceptance to these terms.
