If your name or studio is listed here and you have yet to preregister for NoBrandCon X, you must do so by this Friday, March 25 when preregistration ends or risk losing your spot in our Artist’s Alley. We’ve contacted those who haven’t yet. Once preregistered or if you’ve already done so, you can then mail payment for your table to our PO Box address on the bottom of the page or pay when you arrive at the con if you haven’t done so already.

Lastly, all of the double beds in the Plaza have now sold out for consecutive nights on Friday and Saturday night! There are currently 4 rooms left in our hotel block that are single beds with pull out couches that can still accomodate multiple people as well as 2 rooms with double beds in them still available for one night on Saturday. These rooms are $92 per night, so feel free to check out our Location page for more info on how to book a room. Again, we recommend booking soon because these probably will not last as we get closer to the con. There are also a handful of single bed whirlpool rooms still available for consecutive nights that are outside of our block that can be had for $102 a night, but you’ll have to call the hotel directly (715-834-3181) in order to book one and mention you’re with NoBrandCon to get them to knock it down to the convention rate.

And as always, if you can’t always check the site for updates, you can always follow us on Facebook and Twitter for convention updates!

NoBrandCon 2011 Fan Guests!

We do our best to bring a unique group of guests to the con every year, but there are also groups of lesser known people that contribute to the con every year that deserve recognition too! These are who we like to call fan guests. We’re happy to announce these well deserving individuals as fan guests for NoBrandCon X!

First up is Taeliac Studio run by Chris Warner (Captain Kellin) and Samantha Lemieux (Taeliac)! Chris and Samantha have been with NoBrandCon since nearly the beginning as vendors, attendees, and great contributors to the convention overall! They’re sponsoring our Cosplay Contest this year and helping out with judging and awards, so it’s only right to bring them to the con as fan guests!

Secondly is Beth Kinderman. She’s been to past NoBrand’s performing her music and we’re happy to have her coming back one more time to share her musical talent with our attendees!

Finally are our two bands who will be performing at our Friday Night Rock Show! They are two local bands named Incriminating Silence and By These Hands who are very talented and we hope you’ll check out when the show starts at midnight!

Submission deadlines and hotel update #4

Just 4 weeks to go till the start of NoBrandCon X! It’s getting down to crunch time for any submissions and deadlines. As mentioned in our WEAU-TV 13 broadcast, preregistration has been extended for one more week to Friday, March 25. Here are the rest of the deadlines for submission for various events and materials:

Preregistration: Friday, March 25 ($30)
Panels: Full
Artist’s Alley: Full
Vendor Room: Full
AMV Contest: Friday, April 1
NoBrand Comic: Friday, April 1
Program Guide Advertising: Friday, March 25

Also, as of Wednesday all the double beds we had in our block sold out for two night stays at the Plaza, but we were able to add a few more additional ones into our room block for anyone who may still need a room with two beds in them. There are also a few single beds and a couple of single beds with bedside whirlpools in there left as well. This is pretty much what the hotel has left as far as available rooms for two consecutive nights and we don’t believe they’ll last until the start of the con, so if you still want to stay at the con hotel the entire weekend, we’d strongly recommend jumping on those rooms soon. The convention rate for standard rooms is $92 a night and $102 a night for whirlpool rooms. Check out our location page for more info on how to book a room. You can also call the hotel directly for a room outside the block (if there are any left), and if you mention you’re there for NoBrandCon, they will knock the rate down to the convention rate.

Also, feel free to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for convention updates if you can’t always check the site!

Preregistration and Hotel Update #3

Just wanted to remind everyone that registration for NBC X closes in 12 days on Friday, March 25. It’s $30 to preregister and it saves you $5 off the weekend walk-in price of $35! Check out our Attendees page for more information on how to preregister.

Also, as of Sunday 3/13, we currently have 7 rooms left in our hotel block that are available for both Friday & Saturday nights after the most recent reservations and additional rooms that were added last week. Most of these rooms have two double beds, but we can’t promise on how long they’ll last, so if you still looking to stay at the convention hotel, we definitely recommend making a reservation soon. Rates are $92 per night. Feel free to check out our Location page for more info on how to book a room! We’ll continue to keep everyone updated and if the block fills up, we will post overflow hotel information here as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages if you can’t always follow us here.

Guest Announcement Round 3!

NoBrandCon is happy to announce we’ve now confirmed Mike Stoklasa & Jay Bauman from the independent film production company Red Letter Media as guests for NBC X this year! They’re probably most well known for creating the character “Mr. Plinkett” who has done many in-depth and hilarious reviews of the Stars Wars Prequels and Next-Generation Star Trek movies on youtube! They’ve also created several independent films including their most recent project, Feeding Frenzy! We’re looking very forward to having them attend NoBrandCon this year!

Preregistration and Hotel Update #2

We just want to give everyone a friendly reminder that preregistration for NBC X ends in two weeks on March 18. Just $30 gets you an entire weekend of fun and saves you $5 off the walk-in price! Check out our Attendees page for more info on how to register!

We also have some good news on the hotel front for those still looking to get a room at the con hotel! Due to a group and a few other cancellations who were going to be staying at the hotel during the convention weekend but were not attending the con itself, the Plaza was able to release those rooms to our convention block, so there is still some time yet to get a room. A lot of these rooms have two beds in them, but we can’t promise how long they’ll last, so the sooner you book, the better chance you’ll have of getting a preferred room type! Rates are $92 per night, so feel free to check out the Location page for more info. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on the status of hotel rooms as we get closer to the con. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter for convention updates if you can’t always check the site!

Hotel Update

We were informed this morning by The Plaza staff that there are roughly 15 rooms left available in the con hotel for both Fri & Sat night, so if you were looking at booking a room at the con hotel for the weekend, the hotel is filling up fast, so you should definitely book soon! Rates start at $92 per night for single or double beds, so check out our location page for more information on how to book a room!

In past years when NoBrandCon was held at the Ramada downtown, the con hotel usually sold out by the end of January, but the advantage of being at the Plaza is that it has roughly 110 more hotel rooms than the Ramada which has allowed the room block to stay open longer and many more attendees to stay at the convention hotel than in years past!

We’ll be keeping tabs with the convention hotel in the coming weeks leading up to the con, and if the hotel sells out, we will post overflow hotel information (and other updates) on the site here as well as our facebook and twitter pages, so feel free to follow us there if you can’t always check the site!

NoBrand Comic and AMV Contest Submissions

Do you like drawing comics? Would you like to have some of your work featured in a comic that several hundred people will read? NoBrandCon has your covered!

The NoBrand Comic is a fan created comic book where comic creators can submit their comics they’ve created free of charge to be featured in a comic book we hand out to all our attendees! If you’re interested in submitting a comic, please submit all work to art@nobrandcon.org and we will add it in. We’ve also received several good submissions for our AMV Contest so far, but we’re still looking for a few more good ones! If you’re interested in participating in our AMV contest, please check out this page on what you need to do to in order to submit your AMV. Like the NoBrand Comic, all submissions must be sent or postmarked by March 31, 2011 so be sure to get your AMV submitted by that date to insure it will be included in this year’s contest!
