Volunteer for No Brand Con 2023!

Did you know that if you join our volunteer team, you can get reimbursed for your No Brand Con badge? That’s right, if you work for ten hours over the course of the con weekend, the convention becomes effectively free to attend!

One of the best things about No Brand Con is that it’s run by fans like you, and as we’re an event completely driven by people donating their time, it’s a great way to feel a part of it.

To find out more information, check our our volunteer page. If you decided that you’re interested, just make a copy of our 2023 volunteer application, fill it out, and email it to volunteering@nobrandcon.org! You won’t regret it.

Important Updates to the No Brand Con 2023 COVID-19 Safety Policy

Hello No Brand Heroes! We promised on more than one occasion that we would re-evaluate our COVID-19 safety policies as we approached the convention, and with only a month and a half until we open our doors, we’ve done just that. As you may remember, for No Brand Con 2022 we required all attendees be vaccinated as well as mask during the event. At the time those steps were necessary, and we believe that it was the right choice. But the landscape has changed since then, and community levels are significantly lower — so while we still believe we need to have an active safety policy, we don’t think it has to be as strict as what we did in April of 2022.

So what does that mean?

We are no longer requiring all attendees be vaccinated for COVID-19.
While we still highly encourage you to be vaccinated (and there’s still time to either get vaccinated or get your updated booster if you’ve put it off), we are no longer going to mandate this.

Masks are still required at No Brand Con 2023.
We still believe the risks of COVID-19 are here, but that masks should mitigate the issue. While in convention spaces or interacting with No Brand Con staff and activities, you must wear a mask of adequate thickness that covers both your nose and mouth. As we required for 2022, there will be no eating or drinking in con space. The only exception is when drinking water within ten feet of our water stations.

You can always find the current version of our policies on our Attendee Policies Page. We think that we can all have a safe and fun No Brand Con 2023, and we’re excited to see you guys in just a few weeks.

(And remember, there’s still time to preregister!)

Preregister For Only $20 Through July 4th!

The fourth of July is here, and nothing says “American patriotism” like a Japanese animation convention (just go with it). With No Brand Con 2023 coming up fast then, we thought we would give you guys one last chance to preregister online at our cheapest rate ($20) with the first ever “No Brand Con Freedom Sale!”

That’s right, less than the price of a day badge (and half the price of a weekend badge at the door), you could enjoy an entire weekend at No Brand Con 2023 this September 1st-3rd in Stevens Point, WI. That’s the sort of savings that would make Ben Franklin proud and definitely would convince George Washington to go climb into that giant robot and fight the Space Redcoats!

(That’s a thing that happened, right? I don’t know a lot about history. Maybe that was just a dream I had once.)

Anyway, if you hop on over to our registration page right now, you can take advantage of this all American deal for a convention about Japanese stuff!

Guest Announcement: Lewis “Linkara” Lovhaug

We’re excited to announce another guest for No Brand Con 2023 — Lewis “Linkara” Lovhaug!

Lewis “Linkara” Lovhaug is a comic book Youtuber most known for making excessively long videos about children’s media where people in spandex punch rubber suited monsters. When not battling robots, Lovecraftian monster Gods, and evil doppelgangers on his main show “Atop the Fourth Wall,” he’s ranting about the worst dreck the comic book industry has ever thought up and then dressing up like a ghoul to analyze horror comics.

And then he remembers “Oh, yeah, people like it when I talk about Power Rangers, don’t they?” and proceeds to release another retrospective on it.
