We’re excited to announce another guest for No Brand Con 2018, and that is voice actor John Swasey. John started down the road of anime in 1997, when he landed his first role in Golden Boy<\/em> from ADV Films. Since then, John has gone on to voice hundreds shows and characters with Sentai Films, Funimation, ADV Films, Switchblade Films, Okratron 5000, Gearbox, Seraphim Digital and Illumitoons just to name a few. John\u2019s wife once quipped that there are certain actors who might be the \u201cBrad Pitts\u201d of anime but John is the \u201cKevin Bacon\u201d of anime.<\/p>\n

Being more of the character actor type has given John the freedom to voice bazillions of characters such as Undertaker in Black Butler<\/em>, Salvador in Borderlands II<\/em> (VG), Gendo in Evangelion<\/em>, Sgt. Hauser in Halo<\/em> (VG), Lord Death in Soul Eater<\/em>, Hoenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist<\/em>, Sir Crocodile in One Piece<\/em>, Dodoria in DBZ Kai<\/em>, Kogoro in Sgt. Frog<\/em>, Huang in Darker than Black<\/em>, Hades in Fairy Tale<\/em>, Zachary in Attack on Titan<\/em>, Aramaki in Ghost in the Shell<\/em>, and Jinnouchi in Summer Wars<\/em>, as well as roles in the live action films 2009 Lost Memories<\/em>, Conduct Zero<\/em>, Yesterday<\/em>, Jungle Juice<\/em>, and the Gamera<\/em> trilogy. Most recently you can catch John in the broadcast series of GANGSTA<\/em> as Chad, and Akame Ga Kill<\/em> as Bols as seen on Toonami.<\/p>\n

John voiced his favorite role (Kumatetsu, The Beast) in Funimation\u2019s theatrical release of Mamoru Hosoda\u2019s film, The Boy and the Beast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 2004, John jumped to the other side of the \u201cmic\u201d to direct. Some of the shows he has recently directed include Ushio and Tora<\/em>, Squid Girl<\/em>, Flip Flappers<\/em>, and Yona Yona Penguin<\/em>. John loves working in the world of anime as a director and voice actor! <\/p>\n

Currently John is working with pals Kyle Jones and Jay Hickman on an original animation full length movie called The Perfect Khan<\/em>. In addition to anime, John has acted in radio and tv commercials and films.<\/p>\n
